Welcome to Business
Tigers.
Business Management
Consultant
Business Tigers was
started by Rudi van Heerden in 2006 as an alternative to
Small and Medium Enterprises (SME`s) to have access to a
professional business management consultant but
without the enormous cost usually associated to such a
service.
A Business
Management Consultant will usually charge between R800.00 and
R2000.00 rand per hour depending on seniority of the
consultant. At these prices only corporate entities could
afford expert service and
advice.
We saw
the opportunity to provide a business management consultant and
a consulting service to SME`s (who actually need it the most)
without the enormous cost associated. Based on the Business
Tigers SME community contributing a small amount
monthly we could facilitate consulting services to them
with a dedicated business management
consultant:
There are six basic services
available:
The
first service is called "e-consult"
and allows SME`s to contact
the business management consultant via e-mail
and is based on showing the SME how to
do something (Strategy,
HR, Operations, Budgeting, Business Plans, Sales and
Marketing etc.) rather than doing it for them as would
usually be the case. The SME will be supplied with
templates and the SME will complete the task based on the
template. The template will then follow a back and forth
advisory path between the consultant and the SME until it
is professionally completed. This has two results:
firstly the SME learns how to do it themselves and
secondly the task was completed to the highest
professional standard. The SME will then receive a
Business Fitness
Report (BFR) every month based on
information supplied by the SME from his standard
management accounts (Income statement, Balance sheet,
Cash flow statement). Don't worry, nothing complicated,
you will get a template to provide the consultant with
certain basic information and he/she will then analyse
the information and give you a fitness report every
month. This business fitness report
will indicate, in fact point out clearly, the area's that
require focus, so that the SME can grow and improve the
business.
The second
service is a face to
face
consulting service and involves the
consultant being on site to fulfil a specific need or
want. This service is more involved and usually starts
with a full Business Process Analysis to identify weak
points and improvements in the business
system.
The third service is Business
Coaching. In Business Coaching we focus
on the structure and efficiency of business. We will
address marketing, positioning, visioning, financial
management, people management, skill enhancement,
interpersonal skills, time management, problem solving,
creativity, productivity, dealing with difficult people,
stress management, customer service,
etc.
The fourth
service is Turnaround
Consulting. If you're like most
business owners, you've sacrificed a lot for your
company: worked long hours, borrowed money, and missed
family events. Until recently, the business did OK and
provided you a nice income. Today, things have
changed. Our economy is in decline, expenses are rising,
and you find yourself between a rock and a hard place.
You certainly didn't plan for this to happen, but your
business is struggling. . . and the pressure is
mounting. What's the answer?
A guided
turnaround works well for business owners who realize
that trying something different is better than continuing
on the present course and risking the life of their
business.
The fifth
service is Interim
Management. Experienced management is one of
the most important factors behind the success of any new
entrepreneurial venture. Many first-time entrepreneurs dive
into new ventures with ample enthusiasm and energy, but often
without the knowledge and experience needed to sidestep easily
avoided mistakes. As a result, far too many ventures sputter
and die before ever reaching the market.
The sixth
service is Business
Staging. Laying the groundwork for a
successful business sale is a significant challenge for
any small or medium sized business. Whilst the motivation
for selling a business varies widely, the process itself, is
a particularly challenging one for owners who must
balance the demands of ongoing operations with the desire
to maximise the value of the transaction. In the worst
case it may be left to a spouse or family member to
“dispose” of a business in the event of terminal illness
or even death.
The
Business Tigers community help and support each other through
the Tiger Forum, helping to answer
everyday questions and issues. This is turning out to be a
powerful tool.
The Tiger
Blog consist of snippets of wisdom
concerning current issues from our consultants and is
regularly added to.
Our Training
division is rapidly growing and is heavily
discounted for members.
